Job Description

A Senior Analyst in Retail Operations at Gridmatic is responsible for managing key operational functions such as billing, customer enrollment, regulatory compliance, broker commissions, and customer support, while leveraging data analytics to improve efficiency and ensure compliance in the renewable energy retail market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the timely and accurate generation of customer invoices
  • Monitor and resolve billing exceptions and discrepancies
  • Ensure accurate and on-schedule enrollment of commercial customers
  • Manage enrollment exceptions and troubleshoot issues
  • Monitor and interpret regulations across ERCOT, PJM, and other U.S. power markets
  • Ensure compliance with market rules and prepare regulatory filings and reports
  • Track and report on broker commissions, performance, and exceptions
  • Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate support efforts
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Develop dashboards and predictive models to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools, systems, and workflows

Requirements

  • Experience in overseeing the timely and accurate generation of customer invoices, monitoring and resolving billing exceptions and discrepancies, and partnering with internal teams to improve billing accuracy and automation.
  • Ensuring all commercial customers are enrolled accurately and on schedule, managing enrollment exceptions, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and collaborating with IT and third-party vendors to enhance and automate enrollment systems.
  • Monitoring and interpreting regulations across ERCOT, PJM, and other U.S. power markets, ensuring compliance with market rules and commission guidelines including FERC, PUC, State, and utilities, and preparing data and assisting with regulatory filings, audits, and reports.
  • Tracking and reporting on commission structures, performance, and exceptions, addressing broker inquiries professionally and efficiently, and developing tools and reporting processes to automate and optimize commission workflows.
  • Responding to customer inquiries and issues with clarity, professionalism, and urgency, and ensuring seamless coordination between operations, billing, and support teams.
  • Analyzing operational and financial data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities, and developing dashboards and predictive models using SQL, Python, Tableau, and Power BI to support business decisions with clear, concise reports and visualizations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve tools, systems, and workflows, contributing to special projects including workflow scaling and new service rollouts, and driving operational improvements to support customer satisfaction and company growth.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions independently.
  • Experience working with regulatory compliance, market rules, and preparing regulatory filings, audits, and reports.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams including legal, compliance, operations, IT, and third-party vendors.
  • Physical or logistical ability to work in a hybrid environment with 50% in-office presence, most likely 2-3 days per week.
