Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for building and maintaining the foundational infrastructure that supports real-time energy forecasting, trading, and battery dispatch operations in a high-growth clean energy startup.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the foundational infrastructure for Gridmatic's platform.
- Develop systems to support real-time execution of battery dispatch commands.
- Implement continuous training and deployment pipelines for machine learning models.
- Handle large-scale data ingestion from weather, prices, load, and grid conditions.
- Ensure reliability and performance of platform components to support energy forecasting and trading decisions.
Requirements
- Experience as a Software Engineer with the ability to build foundational infrastructure for a platform that supports real-time energy market forecasting and trading decisions.
- Proficiency in developing systems that execute battery dispatch commands reliably in real time.
- Experience with training and deploying machine learning models continuously as new data arrives.
- Ability to work on problems related to energy markets, including forecasting and optimization, with an understanding of the challenges posed by weather variability and grid conditions.
- Experience ingesting and processing large-scale data such as weather, prices, load, and grid conditions to build probabilistic machine learning forecasts.
- Strong understanding of the requirements for operating in high-growth startup environments, including working under tight schedules and ensuring system reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to develop scalable and robust infrastructure that supports continuous model training and deployment.
