Job Description
The Director of Policy is responsible for advocating and developing policies at the state and federal levels to support the adoption of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies, working directly with policymakers and representing the company in public forums. The role involves analyzing regulatory changes, preparing policy documents, and influencing legislation related to distributed energy resources and home improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and advocate for policies at the state and federal levels supporting distributed energy resources, energy-efficient technologies, and home improvements.
- Focus on developing and promoting compensation mechanisms for distributed energy resources at retail and wholesale levels, particularly in California.
- Work directly with policymakers and represent GoodLeap in public forums.
- Participate in regulatory proceedings and legislative actions.
- Develop policy briefings, comment letters, white papers, and regulatory filings.
- Identify and evaluate regulatory and policy changes impacting GoodLeap's business strategies.
Requirements
- Experience participating in regulatory proceedings and legislative actions.
- Ability to identify and evaluate important regulatory and policy changes that could impact existing and planned business strategies.
- Experience developing policy briefings, comment letters, white papers, and regulatory filings.
- Comfortable working directly with policymakers and representing the company in public forums.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively in policy advocacy.
- Knowledge of policies supporting the adoption of distributed energy resources, energy efficient technologies, and home improvements, with a focus on California.
- Experience advocating for compensation mechanisms for distributed energy resources at both retail and wholesale levels.

Benefits & Perks
