Job Description
A leadership role responsible for managing and mentoring a sales team focused on promoting and expanding the adoption of Esri's geospatial technology within state and local government sectors, driving strategic account growth, and building relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage sales activities for the team, guiding all stages of the account management process.
- Mentor and coach team members to improve performance and achieve sales objectives.
- Develop and implement location strategies for large, complex organizations to expand customer adoption.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within customer organizations.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of ArcGIS and its value to local government clients.
- Research industry trends and maintain professional knowledge to stay competitive.
- Plan and execute negotiations with customers to close sales opportunities.
- Drive the sales cycle to meet or exceed sector goals through solution development and visual storytelling.
Requirements
- 8 years of enterprise sales and or relevant consulting or program management experience
- 3 years experience mentoring, motivating, and coaching on a team
- Able to build compelling account growth strategies
- Advanced knowledge of Land Records, Public Works, Public Safety, and new technology trends, and the ability to translate this into complex solutions for customers
- Deep understanding of GIS and Esri technology
- Expert knowledge of ArcGIS and its value propositions to City and County Governments with populations less than 150,000
- Expert visual storyteller and negotiator across all levels of an organization
- Knowledge of the fiscal year, budgeting, and procurement cycles
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 50%
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field
