Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for developing innovative GIS solutions, advising customers on complex business challenges, and demonstrating the value of Esri's GIS technology through technical leadership, presentations, and solution design.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate their value
- Build relationships and support the sale of Esri software and solutions
- Lead technical meetings with enterprise decision makers to drive revenue
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in GIS and local government
- Design and present technical solutions and configurations for clients
- Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri applications and system architecture
- Share knowledge and coach team members on best practices
- Develop and propose strategies that align GIS technology with customer business needs
Requirements
- Five years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- Three years of experience in local government
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Understanding of sales and business development processes
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
- Ability to design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences within large customer organizations
- Ability to provide configuration guidance and best practices for Esri solutions
