The General Counsel at Energy Solutions is the company's senior legal leader responsible for providing strategic legal advice, managing legal risks, overseeing contracts and compliance, and leading the legal team to support the company's growth and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as strategic legal counsel to leadership on legal and regulatory developments
Identify, prioritize, and manage enterprise legal risks, providing business-oriented advice
Evaluate, negotiate, and approve contracts to mitigate legal and commercial risks
Design contract structures and templates to support business growth while ensuring legal protection
Lead, mentor, and develop the Legal, Contracts, and Compliance team
Develop and implement organizational contract policies and procedures aligned with company values and strategic goals
Determine and manage litigation and dispute resolution strategies, overseeing outside counsel
Requirements
Juris doctor from an accredited law school
Minimum of 10 years of legal experience
In-depth experience with contract negotiations and commercial law
Legal leadership experience supervising attorneys, paralegals, and contracts professionals
Proven experience building, leading, and mentoring a high-performing legal team
Exceptional communication skills to engage credibly with the Board, C-Suite, clients, regulators, and opposing counsel, and to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance
Strong legal writing, negotiation, organizational, and project management skills
Ability to evaluate contracts prior to execution to identify legal and commercial risk, negotiate favorable terms, and confirm compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
Ability to anticipate legal and commercial risks in new business lines and design contract structures and templates that enable growth while protecting the company
Ability to determine and execute litigation and dispute resolution strategies, including directing outside counsel and owning case outcomes
Experience selecting, directing, and managing outside counsel to deliver high-quality results efficiently and within budget
Proficiency in extensive use of Microsoft Office and a contract management platform
Ability to work well with a variety of team members and thrive independently

Salary range of $195,000 - $270,000 with target compensation of $195,000 - $232,000 plus bonus
