The Energy and Sustainability Intern will support the company's sustainability initiatives through data analysis, reporting, and program development, working on projects related to energy, water, waste, indoor environmental quality, and stakeholder engagement to enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Support ESRT's sustainability strategy through data analytics, reporting, and program development
Create dashboards and develop innovative KPIs for sustainability performance
Manage and coordinate sustainability data related to energy, water, waste, indoor environmental quality, and community/vendor engagement
Collaborate with property management teams and tenants to improve sustainability performance from design to operations
Participate in project meetings and contribute to research, certifications, and investor reporting related to sustainability
Assist with strategic sustainability initiatives and broader team projects
Requirements
Currently enrolled in a college or university program, pursuing a degree related to sustainability, environmental science, engineering, data analytics, or a related field.
Ability to commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week from June 1st, 2026, until August 7th, 2026.
Must be able to work onsite at 111 W 33rd Street, New York, NY for the duration of the internship.
Strong skills in data analytics, reporting, and program development related to sustainability initiatives.
Experience or ability to assist in creating dashboards and developing innovative KPIs for sustainability performance measurement.
Ability to manage and coordinate sustainability data related to energy, water, waste, indoor environmental quality, and community and vendor engagement initiatives.
Excellent collaboration skills to work with property management teams and tenants to improve sustainability performance from design through ongoing operations.
Ability to participate in project meetings, contribute to research, and support certifications, investor reporting, and other strategic sustainability efforts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to contribute effectively to research, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Demonstrated interest or experience in energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, or related sustainability fields is preferred but not mandatory.
