Job Description
A Public Relations Intern supports the PR team by creating written content, assisting with media relations, coordinating press events, and tracking trends related to ESRT's portfolio, including the Empire State Building, during a summer internship from June to August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Create compelling written content such as press releases, media pitches, blog posts, and executive remarks.
- Assist with day-to-day media relations efforts, including proactive and reactive outreach.
- Support media monitoring, reporting, and organization of press materials and contact lists.
- Coordinate on-site press opportunities, tower lighting ceremonies, and celebrity visits.
- Track pop culture, business, and real estate trends to identify timely storytelling opportunities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to create compelling written content including press releases, media pitches, blog posts, and executive remarks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assist with day-to-day media relations efforts, including proactive and reactive media outreach.
- Experience or ability to assist with media monitoring, reporting, and organization of press materials and contact lists.
- Willingness to help coordinate on-site press opportunities, tower lighting ceremonies, and celebrity visits.
- Ability to track pop culture, business, and real estate trends to identify timely storytelling opportunities.
- Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, from June 1st, 2026, until August 7th, 2026.
- Ability to work onsite at 111 W 33rd Street, New York, NY.
