Job Description
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the technical operations, maintenance, and emergency response of a commercial building, supervising staff, managing outsourced contracts, and supporting tenant services and special projects to ensure efficient and safe building performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise building engineer staff and oversee maintenance of building equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment
- Oversee outsourced building contracts
- Respond to tenant service calls
- Support building leasing and marketing tenant improvement projects
- Expedite special projects as directed by the Property Manager
- Respond to building emergencies
Requirements
- Experience supervising building engineer staff and overseeing building technical operations.
- Proven ability to maintain and oversee preventive maintenance of all building equipment.
- Experience in managing and overseeing outsourced building contracts.
- Ability to respond to and manage tenant service calls effectively.
- Support experience for building leasing and marketing tenant improvement (TI) projects as required.
- Experience in expediting and managing special projects as directed by the Property Manager.
- Ability to respond to all building emergencies promptly and effectively.
- Knowledge of building systems and equipment maintenance standards.
- Demonstrated understanding of landlord requirements and building operations compliance.
- Experience working closely with property management teams in a commercial or multi-use building environment.
