The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the technical operations, maintenance, and emergency response of a commercial building, supervising staff, managing outsourced contracts, and supporting tenant services and special projects to ensure efficient and safe building performance.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise building engineer staff and oversee maintenance of building equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment
Oversee outsourced building contracts
Respond to tenant service calls
Support building leasing and marketing tenant improvement projects
Expedite special projects as directed by the Property Manager
Respond to building emergencies
Requirements
Experience supervising building engineer staff and overseeing building technical operations.
Proven ability to maintain and oversee preventive maintenance of all building equipment.
Experience in managing and overseeing outsourced building contracts.
Ability to respond to and manage tenant service calls effectively.
Support experience for building leasing and marketing tenant improvement (TI) projects as required.
Experience in expediting and managing special projects as directed by the Property Manager.
Ability to respond to all building emergencies promptly and effectively.
Knowledge of building systems and equipment maintenance standards.
Demonstrated understanding of landlord requirements and building operations compliance.
Experience working closely with property management teams in a commercial or multi-use building environment.
