Job Description
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the technical operations of the building, supervising maintenance staff, managing equipment and preventive maintenance, handling tenant service calls, supporting leasing and marketing projects, and responding to emergencies to ensure the smooth functioning of the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise building engineer staff and oversee their activities
- Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on building equipment
- Oversee outsourced building contracts and service providers
- Respond to tenant service calls and address building emergencies
- Support building leasing and marketing tenant improvement projects
- Assist with special projects as directed by the Property Manager
Requirements
- Supervise the building engineer staff to ensure proper maintenance and operation of building systems.
- Maintain and oversee preventive maintenance of all building equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Oversee associated outsourced building contracts to ensure quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Respond to and manage all tenant service calls promptly and effectively.
- Provide support for all building leasing and marketing tenant improvement (TI) projects as required.
- Expedite other special projects as directed by the Property Manager.
- Respond to all building emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
- Work closely with the Property Manager and management team in the oversight of building technical operations and project work.
- Meet all requirements of the Landlord related to building operations and maintenance.
- Possess the ability to work in a manner consistent with the company's commitment to energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and sustainability initiatives.
- Possess the physical ability to perform duties related to building maintenance and emergency response (implied, as typical for the role).
