Job Description

The Managing Consultant at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic analysis, developing reports, and delivering presentations on complex energy and climate policy issues, while guiding project teams and contributing to the firm's high-impact initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing interactions and identify approaches for medium-to-large projects
  • Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
  • Deliver findings and summaries to customers through presentations and Q&A sessions
  • Oversee investigative tasks, manage existing tools, and lead proposal writing efforts

Requirements

  • Deep subject matter expertise related to at least one of the practice areas: Climate Pathways and Electrification, Asset Valuation, Transmission, and Markets, or Integrated System Planning.
  • Strong analytical dexterity or policy experience in the energy sector.
  • Proven ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering an elevated level of guidance to serve customers.
  • Experience in leading client-facing interactions and playing a leadership role in identifying the approach and methods for medium-to-large projects.
  • Experience in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
  • Ability to regularly deliver findings and summaries to customers, including making presentations and replying to questions.
  • Comfortable working in a rigorous and quantitative solution-finding environment, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management and leadership techniques.
  • Experience in overseeing the management of existing tools and leading efforts on proposal writing.
  • Ability to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
  • Full-time employment status.
  • Office location with a hybrid work schedule from San Francisco, Boston, New York, Denver, or Calgary, with remote work considered.
  • Availability to work 0-10% travel.
