Job Description
The Managing Consultant at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic analysis, developing reports, and delivering recommendations on complex energy and climate policy issues, while managing workstreams and collaborating with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing interactions and project approach development for medium-to-large projects
- Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
- Deliver findings and summaries to clients through presentations and Q&A sessions
- Oversee investigative tasks and manage existing analytical tools
- Contribute to proposal writing and project planning
Requirements
- Deep subject matter expertise related to at least one of the practice areas: Climate Pathways and Electrification, Asset Valuation, Transmission, and Markets, or Integrated System Planning.
- Strong analytical dexterity and/or policy experience related to energy issues.
- Integrity and a passion for energy.
- Ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering an elevated level of guidance to serve customers.
- Experience in leading client-facing interactions and playing a leadership role in identifying the approach and methods for medium-to-large projects.
- Experience in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
- Proficiency in delivering findings and summaries to customers, making presentations, and replying to questions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent project management and leadership techniques.
- Experience in coaching and providing feedback to others.
- Ability to work closely with clients and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a rigorous and quantitative solution-finding environment.
- Ability to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
- Full-time employment status.
- Office location flexibility with a hybrid work schedule from San Francisco, Boston, New York, Denver, or Calgary, with remote work considered.
- Willingness to travel 0-10% for work-related activities.
