Job Description

The Managing Consultant at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic analysis, developing reports, and guiding project teams on complex energy and climate policy issues to support decision-making and policy implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing interactions and project approach development for medium-to-large projects
  • Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
  • Deliver findings and summaries to clients through presentations and Q&A sessions
  • Oversee investigative tasks and manage existing analytical tools
  • Lead proposal writing efforts and contribute to project planning and execution

Requirements

  • Deep subject matter expertise related to at least one of the practice areas: Climate Pathways and Electrification, Asset Valuation, Transmission, and Markets, or Integrated System Planning.
  • Strong analytical dexterity or policy experience in the energy sector.
  • Integrity and a passion for energy.
  • Ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering an elevated level of guidance to serve customers.
  • Experience in leading client-facing interactions and playing a leadership role in identifying the approach and methods for medium-to-large projects.
  • Experience in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
  • Experience in delivering findings and summaries to customers, making presentations, and replying to questions.
  • Strong project management and leadership techniques.
  • Deep technical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working closely with clients and stakeholders, coaching, and providing feedback to others.
  • Ability to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
  • Availability to work full-time hours.
  • Willingness to travel between 0-10% of the time.
  • Possession of relevant education and experience in the energy or related fields (implied, as the role involves policy and technical expertise).
