Job Description
The Associate Director at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy consulting sector, providing strategic guidance, managing workstreams, and contributing to reports and presentations to support clean energy policy implementation and market development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing interactions and present findings to clients
- Identify approaches and methods for medium-to-large projects
- Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to reports and papers
- Oversee investigative tasks and manage existing tools
- Support proposal writing and project development
- Drive strategic project and thought leadership to grow the business
- Mentor and develop the next generation of leaders within the organization
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of several years of professional experience supporting significant business development efforts upon hiring.
- Demonstrate deep subject matter expertise and strong technical aptitude in energy consulting or related fields.
- Have the ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering an elevated level of guidance to serve customers.
- Experience in managing, shaping, and continuing to develop an energy consulting practice area or similar field.
- Proven ability to lead client-facing interactions and play a leadership role in identifying the approach and methods for medium-to-large sized projects.
- Experience in directing workstreams within projects and contributing heavily to written reports and papers.
- Ability to regularly deliver findings and summaries to customers, including making presentations and replying to questions.
- Support the growth of the business through strategic project and thought leadership.
- Support the development of the next generation of leaders within the organization.
- Thrive in a rigorous and quantitative solution-finding environment, demonstrating curiosity and the ability to look at all sides of an issue to make informed recommendations.
- Take a collaborative approach to project work, coaching and providing feedback to others.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders while supporting the execution of the business and mission.
- Possess a strong attention to detail and excellent project management and leadership techniques.
- Be able to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
- Be willing and able to travel occasionally, up to 10 times per year, to client sites within the United States and/or Canada.
- Possess at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (implied by industry standards, though not explicitly stated).
- Be able to work in a hybrid and flexible work environment, including working from the office at least 2-3 days per week, usually including Tuesdays and Thursdays.
