Job Description
The Associate Director at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy sector, providing strategic guidance, managing workstreams, and contributing to reports and proposals, with a focus on shaping energy and climate policies and supporting clean energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead client-facing interactions and identify approaches for medium-to-large projects
- Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
- Deliver findings and summaries to clients through presentations and Q&A sessions
- Oversee the management of existing analytical tools and methodologies
- Support proposal writing and contribute to project development
- Drive strategic project and thought leadership to support business growth
- Mentor and develop the next generation of leaders within the organization
Requirements
- Minimum of several years of professional experience supporting significant business development activities upon hiring, with demonstrated ability to support growth of the company's business.
- Deep subject matter expertise and strong technical aptitude in energy consulting, policy, regulation, or related fields.
- Ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering guidance to serve customers.
- Experience in leading client-facing interactions and playing a leadership role in identifying approaches and methods for medium-to-large sized projects.
- Proven ability to direct workstreams within projects and contribute heavily to written reports and papers.
- Experience in delivering findings and summaries to customers, including making presentations and replying to questions.
- Ability to oversee the management of existing tools and lead efforts on proposal writing.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, including the ability to develop and actualize work plans.
- Excellent collaboration skills, including coaching and providing feedback to others, and working closely with clients and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a rigorous, quantitative solution-finding approach.
- Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid work environment, including working from the office at least 2-3 days per week, typically including Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Ability to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
- Availability to travel occasionally, up to 10 times per year, to client sites within the United States and/or Canada.
