A site-based role involving preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of utility-scale solar PV systems, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, primarily supporting a solar facility in Illinois.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems, including testing and repairing DC and AC components
Conduct on-site troubleshooting, testing, and repairs of solar photovoltaic facilities
Maintain tools, meters, vehicles, and spare parts inventory
Create service reports and document operational issues and safety hazards
Identify and eliminate safety hazards on-site
Respond to emergency situations and on-call service requests
Requirements
Possession of a Valid Driver's License.
Ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.
Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Work is to be performed in the field and in the office, requiring excellent attendance and punctuality.
Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures, including the use of PPE such as hard hat, arc flash protection, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Experience with PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications, and monitoring, with 3-4 years of relevant experience.
NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as thermographic electrical inspection tools, IV curve tracers, megohmmeters, and ground fault detection devices.
Experience in all aspects of PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found in PV systems.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design construction practices.
Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
Proficiency with MS Office suite.
