Job Description
A site-based role involving preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of utility-scale solar PV systems, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, primarily supporting a solar facility in Illinois.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems, including testing and repairing DC and AC components
- Conduct on-site troubleshooting, testing, and repairs of solar photovoltaic facilities
- Maintain tools, meters, vehicles, and spare parts inventory
- Create service reports and document operational issues and safety hazards
- Identify and eliminate safety hazards on-site
- Respond to emergency situations and on-call service requests
Requirements
- Possession of a Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.
- Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Work is to be performed in the field and in the office, requiring excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures, including the use of PPE such as hard hat, arc flash protection, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Experience with PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications, and monitoring, with 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
- Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as thermographic electrical inspection tools, IV curve tracers, megohmmeters, and ground fault detection devices.
- Experience in all aspects of PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
- Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found in PV systems.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design construction practices.
- Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite.
