The Quality Control Engineer at Cypress Creek Energy oversees and supports the daily operation of utility-scale solar PV plants, focusing on quality assurance, troubleshooting, data analysis, and performance improvement to ensure asset reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and assist in the daily operation of utility-scale PV plants
Act as the main technical contact for quality control teams
Generate inspection templates and support field inspections
Troubleshoot issues remotely and support field technicians with research
Perform root cause analysis for system faults and failures
Analyze data to identify underperformance and derive improvement actions
Review field photos for quality control deficiencies
Support QA/QC reporting for asset management and third-party clients
Serve as the primary interface for technical quality control questions
Requirements
BS and/or Master's degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy, or related fields.
3-5 years of experience in Utility Scale Solar Construction.
Understanding of the Quality Control process in utility scale construction projects.
Experience with operation of SCADA, DAS, and communication equipment.
Experience in aspects of electrical maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
Ability to read and understand electrical single-line, three-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, DAS drawings, and Structural drawings.
Knowledge of and experience in installation practices relevant to standards including UL, IEEE, NEC.
Experience with Electrical, Structural, and Civil practices in Solar Construction.
Proficiency with MS Office suite.
Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight.
Familiarity with analysis techniques of large data sets using Excel, Power BI, and Python.
Physical ability to perform work primarily in an office environment with occasional field visits.
Ability to obtain unescorted access to NERC CIP facilities.
Valid Driver's License.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
