The role involves leading the origination and execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions in the renewable energy sector, primarily focusing on solar and storage projects, to support the company's strategic growth and energy transition initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate project, portfolio, and platform acquisition targets in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar and battery storage.
Manage acquisition or sale processes from valuation and risk analysis to negotiations, documentation, and closing.
Develop financial models and perform valuation and sensitivity analysis for transactions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on due diligence, including development, legal, and structured finance tax workstreams.
Support development of long-term relationships and channel partnerships.
Lead market intelligence efforts and prepare industry trend updates for stakeholders.
Drive process improvements in pipeline management, screening tools, and data analytics to enhance origination efforts.
Requirements
A BA or BS degree is required; MBA or other quantitative graduate degrees are welcome.
At least 6 years of relevant finance experience is required, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
Experience in investment banking, principal investing, and/or corporate M A is strongly preferred.
In-depth understanding of renewable energy project financing concepts, including tax equity.
Solid transaction execution and negotiation experience, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Quantitative background with strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including financial model development and valuation, with sensitivity scenarios.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
Ability to work well with multiple teams cross-functionally and in offices across the U.S.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Unimpeachable ethics and integrity.
Leadership ability and a passion for providing mentorship, guidance, and training to junior colleagues on the team.
