The Associate will support mergers and acquisitions activities by conducting financial modeling, due diligence, and preparing presentations for utility-scale solar and storage project transactions, playing a key role in the company's growth and project portfolio expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial modeling and valuation analyses for M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives.
Oversee due diligence workstreams and coordinate with subject matter experts and external consultants.
Prepare presentation materials to communicate investment thesis, key value drivers, and market dynamics.
Create and enhance analytical tools to improve financial models and streamline processes.
Maintain databases related to deal pipeline and market research.
Coordinate presentations of proposed transactions for executive and Investment Committee review.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS); MBA or other relevant graduate degrees are welcome
Minimum of 3 years of finance experience required, ideally in the renewable energy industry, investment banking, principal investing, or corporate M&A
Experience or familiarity with project debt and tax equity structures is a plus
Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including successful completion of an Excel-based modeling test
Ability to lead financial modeling and valuation analyses for M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives
Experience preparing presentation materials to communicate investment thesis, key value drivers, sensitivity analyses, and market dynamics
Experience creating and enhancing analytical tools to improve financial models and streamline processes
Ability to maintain databases related to deal pipeline and market research
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability

Ability to work well with multiple teams across functions and offices throughout the US

Ability to coordinate cross-functionally with subject matter experts including Development, Structured Finance, and Legal teams
Ability to support the creation of presentation materials for new opportunities to communicate investment thesis, key value drivers, sensitivity analyses, and market dynamics
Successful completion of an Excel-based modeling test
Location preference for New York City, NY, with the ability to work on a hybrid schedule of three days in-office per week
