A Field Service Technician at Cypress Creek is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar PV systems, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of solar assets across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on solar PV systems, including testing and troubleshooting DC and AC components
Respond to corrective maintenance cases to diagnose and repair PV system issues
Conduct safety assessments and eliminate hazards during maintenance activities
Create service reports and manage spare parts inventory
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles used in field operations
Perform on-site inspections, testing, and repairs of solar photovoltaic facilities
Requirements
Possession of a valid Driver's License.
Ability to work in the field and in the office, with excellent attendance and punctuality.
Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends, and manage daily local travel to project sites within the surrounding region.
Must have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications, and monitoring.
Experience with operation of SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems.
Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault Detection.
Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found in PV systems.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and standard design construction practices.
Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
Proficiency with MS Office suite.
NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
OSHA 10 HR Training.
NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the workplace.
Understanding of and adherence to safety and quality procedures and practices, including the use of PPE such as hard hats, arc flash protection, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Ability to create service reports and maintain spare parts inventory.
Ability to identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards.
Ability to respond on-call for emergencies as directed by supervisor.
