A Senior Associate role supporting project valuation, risk management, and investment decisions for solar, storage, and natural gas assets within Cypress Creek Renewables, involving financial modeling, market analysis, and transaction support in a high-growth energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage project valuation efforts for solar, storage, and natural gas assets.
Develop and support financial models for project valuation, investment decisions, and development strategies.
Support transaction processes including project financings, asset acquisitions, and sales.
Evaluate project risk-return profiles and prepare investment recommendation memos.
Oversee underwriting assumptions and consolidate information from internal experts.
Collaborate with engineering, development, and fleet teams to develop valuation theses for key markets.
Supervise junior team members and improve processes to enhance team efficiency.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in computer science, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
At least 4-6 years of experience in energy finance or project valuation, with experience in investment banking, project finance, or corporate M&A being a plus.
Demonstrated experience designing and developing financial models that meet the analytical needs of multiple teams such as M&A, Structured Finance, and Investment Analytics.
Deep knowledge of energy markets and a variety of energy technologies, with a focus on solar, storage, and natural gas.
Thorough understanding of discounted cash flow valuation concepts and debt, tax equity financing structures.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial analysis to non-financial stakeholders.
Exceptional skills in Excel and PowerPoint, and demonstrated ability to work with unstructured datasets.
Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
Organized, diligent, and able to manage multiple streams of information on an ongoing basis.
