Job Description
A Compensation Consultant will lead the organization-wide project to revise and establish compensation benchmarks across the US, UK, and Canada, ensuring competitive and equitable pay structures through market analysis, job evaluation, and pay equity studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Revise and update compensation benchmarks for the US, UK, and Canada
- Analyze and compare internal roles against market data to ensure competitiveness and equity
- Access and utilize salary surveys and market data databases to determine competitive pay
- Evaluate internal roles based on responsibilities, skills, and levels for external benchmarking
- Develop salary grades and bands aligned with company compensation philosophy
- Assess and design total rewards packages including base salary, bonuses, and incentives
- Conduct pay equity studies to identify and address gender or racial pay gaps
Requirements
- Experience of 8 to 10 years in compensation, HR analytics, or finance.
- Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems.
- Knowledge of compensation regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Finance.
- Experience in setting up and implementing compensation benchmarks in a start-up, private sector, or non-profit organizations.
- Ability to analyze and compare internal roles based on accountabilities, skill requirements, and levels to match with external market data.
- Experience leading an organization-wide compensation benchmarking project, including analyzing and comparing current pay structures against market data.
- Experience accessing salary surveys and market data databases to determine competitive pay for specific roles.
- Experience developing salary grades and bands that align with company compensation philosophy.
- Experience evaluating base salary, bonuses, and long-term incentives to create comprehensive compensation packages.
- Experience conducting pay equity studies to analyze compensation for gender or racial gaps to ensure compliance and fairness.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $75,000 to $90,000 per year (or $35 to $45 hourly)
Work schedule: Hybrid model, 3 days in the office per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
