A Field Service Technician at Cypress Creek Renewables performs preventative and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar PV systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation through troubleshooting, testing, and repairs, primarily in the field with travel within the region.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar PV systems on-site
Conduct DC and AC testing, including polarity, voltage, grounding, communication, and insulation resistance tests
Maintain tools, meters, vehicle, and spare parts inventory
Create service reports and document system issues and repairs
Identify and eliminate safety hazards in the field
Respond to emergency repair cases as needed
Maintain compliance with safety standards and procedures during maintenance activities
Requirements
Possess 3-4 years of experience in PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications, and monitoring.
Be NABCEP Certified Installation Professional.
Have experience with operation of SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems.
Be skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault Detection.
Have diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found in solar PV systems.
Possess knowledge of the National Electrical Code and standard design construction practices.
Be able to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
Be proficient with MS Office suite.
Hold a valid Driver's License.
Complete OSHA 10 HR Training.
Be familiar with NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the workplace.
Have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.
Work in the field and in the office, demonstrating excellent attendance and punctuality.
Adhere to safety and quality procedures and practices, including the use of PPE such as hard hats, arc flash protection, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day.
Be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
