Job Description
This role involves analyzing and influencing regional electric market policies, engaging with stakeholders, and developing strategies to support clean energy development and grid reliability within the Eastern Interconnect and ERCOT regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify priority areas for offense and defense on regional electric market policies.
- Review proposed market and policy changes to identify opportunities and threats for Clearway.
- Communicate market opportunities and threats to relevant business units and facilitate internal discussions.
- Manage consultants and leverage trade association resources to gather insights and information.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve Clearway's goals in regional markets.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings at RTOs and ISOs to represent Clearway's interests.
- Build and maintain relationships with RTO and ISO staff, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external organizations to develop and publicize reports supporting policy proposals.
- Strengthen relationships with FERC Commissioners, RTO and ISO leadership, and coordinate advocacy efforts.
Requirements
- Experience working on RTO ISO issues in the Eastern Interconnect
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as energy, economics, law, policy, finance, or engineering
- At least 5 years of experience working in a relevant field OR 7 years of experience working in a relevant field
- Understanding of regional electricity markets, regulatory structure, and stakeholder processes
- General understanding of generator interconnection and transmission planning policy
- Ability to self-organize and establish a start-to-finish plan for achieving a goal
- Clear communication skills in both speaking and writing
- Ability to present concise information in memos, emails, and PowerPoint slides
- Ability to effectively tailor communications to the audience
- Comfort in translating complex concepts into straightforward language and graphics that audiences can understand
- Comfort speaking persuasively to groups of people, both virtually and in person
- Eagerness to learn and ask questions to ensure understanding
- Comfort with fast-changing priorities and the ambiguity inherent in working on new initiatives
- Clearway will not sponsor non-immigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.)

Salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 USD
