The Intern, Strategic Procurement BESS role is a summer internship position focused on supporting procurement activities related to battery energy storage systems, including cost analysis, contract review, and process improvements, while gaining professional experience in the renewable energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
Support cost estimating and modeling for Battery Storage equipment, including data analysis and developing strategic rationale
Assist in contract review and negotiation for equipment supply and long-term service agreements
Develop and support procurement process improvements using tools like Microsoft Copilot
Support strategic procurement projects and initiatives
Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis related to procurement activities
Present project results to team and leadership at the end of the internship
Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor s degree in business management, economics, construction, project management, or engineering.
Experience or background in procurement, project management, construction, contracts, renewable energy, cost analysis, and reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
Familiarity with automation tools and large language models like Microsoft Copilot to improve processes is a plus.
Experience with Power BI is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to ask questions, listen to colleagues, and contribute ideas.
Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable, demonstrating the ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership over projects and assignments.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Denver Office.
Willingness to support cost estimating and modeling for Battery Storage equipment, including data analysis and developing strategic rationale.
Ability to support contract review and negotiation for equipment supply and long-term service agreements.
Ability to develop and support procurement-specific process improvements to promote efficiency.
