The Senior Analyst supports tax planning activities related to US federal and state income tax, transaction support, and compliance, working closely with various departments to optimize tax strategies and ensure accurate tax modeling and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Support tax planning activities including US federal and state income tax, transaction tax return support, credits, incentives, and transaction diligence
Calculate tax basis, 704(b) capital accounts, and transaction-related impacts for tax compliance
Prepare memos and presentations documenting diligence and transactions
Review financial models related to cash taxes, partnership capital accounts, and credit incentives
Conduct tax research for complex or unique tax scenarios
Collaborate with Accounting, Business Development, and Portfolio Finance to support transactions and ensure accurate tax modeling
Drive process improvements to optimize tax planning and increase efficiency
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Education, Taxation, Business Administration, or similar field.
At least 4 years of professional experience.
2 to 3 years of federal and state tax compliance or tax planning experience with a public accounting firm or large corporate tax department.
Experience with Partnership Sub K tax.
Ability to explain tax-related items to non-tax audiences and work cross-functionally.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel modeling.
Proficiency in PowerPoint.
Willingness to learn data translation using Power BI, Alteryx, and Excel.
