The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial data, preparing financial statements, supporting internal controls, and ensuring accurate reporting for renewable wind energy projects, including collaboration with various internal teams and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes following internal control procedures.
Perform analytical functions for accurate and timely general ledger month-end close, including financial statement preparation.
Support internal financial reporting and ensure compliance with GAAP for multiple wind projects.
Maintain and update financial reporting templates and data queries using reporting software.
Prepare and support financial statements, footnotes, and audit documentation for external auditors.
Assist with technical accounting research and respond to stakeholder inquiries related to financial reporting.
Provide accurate general ledger account coding and support ad hoc requests from corporate teams.
Collaborate with internal departments and external groups to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Support the annual audit process, including data compilation and audit requests.
Assist with income tax preparation and related tax provisions as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in general accounting.
Knowledge of the ERP accounting system.
Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Practical understanding and application of internal control processes and procedures over financial accounting and reporting.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including performing financial and analytical computations in Excel.
Detail-oriented and adaptable to changing working requirements.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
Demonstrate a can-do attitude in embracing company goals and initiatives.
