Job Description
The Senior Accountant will manage financial data, perform account reconciliations, support financial reporting for wind energy projects, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, primarily focusing on utility-scale wind assets and collaborating with various internal teams and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes following internal control procedures.
- Perform analytical functions to ensure accurate and timely general ledger month-end close.
- Prepare financial statements and support accounting for financed and non-financed wind projects.
- Utilize financial reporting software to create, update, and maintain reporting templates and data queries.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Research technical accounting and reporting issues in collaboration with accounting professionals.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Assist with audit processes, including compiling financial statements, footnotes, and responding to data requests.
- Provide general ledger account coding support for utility-scale wind projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to explain financial performance and support ad hoc financial requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in general accounting.
- Knowledge of the ERP accounting system.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Practical understanding and application of internal control processes and procedures over financial accounting and reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including performing financial and analytical computations in Excel.
- Detail-oriented and adaptable to changing working requirements.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- Demonstrate a can-do attitude in embracing company goals and initiatives.
