Job Description
The Senior Accountant will manage financial data, perform account reconciliations, support financial reporting for wind energy projects, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, primarily focusing on utility-scale wind ownership structures and collaborating with various internal teams and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes following internal controls
- Perform analytical functions for accurate and timely general ledger month-end close
- Prepare financial statements and support accounting for wind projects
- Maintain documentation to support financial assertions and internal controls
- Support general ledger account coding and ad hoc requests for wind projects
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP
- Research technical accounting and reporting issues in collaboration with accounting professionals
- Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors during audits
- Support income tax preparation and related tax provisions as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in general accounting.
- Knowledge of the ERP accounting system.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Practical understanding and application of internal control processes and procedures over financial accounting and reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including performing financial and analytical computations in Excel.
- Detail-oriented and adaptable to changing working requirements.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- Demonstrate a can-do attitude in embracing company goals and initiatives.
