The Operations Specialist II supports the real-time monitoring, performance evaluation, and safe operation of wind, solar, and battery storage assets, ensuring optimal asset availability and compliance in a high-stress, rotating shift environment.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and evaluate real-time activities, performance, and operational status of assets to identify root causes and maintain data integrity.
Identify and react to abnormal operating and alarm conditions during shifts.
Manage power plant operations considering location-specific requirements, regulations, and contractual obligations.
Coordinate and implement remedial actions to maximize equipment availability and production revenue.
Operate multiple power plants in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Coordinate with field teams and external entities for plant status verification, downtime reporting, and operational instructions.
Support commissioning of projects by scheduling tests and ensuring safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance.
Requirements
Minimum of two (2) years experience in operations is required; three to four (3-4) years preferred.
Experience in a Solar, Wind, or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Field Technician role may be considered toward the experience requirement.
Able to demonstrate competent technical knowledge of plant and system processes and experience in operating electrical and SCADA systems.
Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others.
Ability to work in difficult customer situations and show strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a high-stress environment where decisions directly impact personnel safety and equipment reliability.
Ability to work rotating shifts of 12.5 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet customer requirements.
Must possess a current NERC Reliability Coordinator (RC) certification, or have the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date.
High School Diploma or GED is required.

Salary Range: $82,000 - $95,000 USD
Work schedule: 12.5-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
