The Wind Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operation of wind energy assets, with opportunities for career progression and working in various environments.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in performing wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance.
Troubleshoot and repair wind turbine components and SCADA communication systems.
Document work performed, parts used, and time spent using service reporting procedures.
Operate and maintain service vehicles and hand tools.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Work on all site operations as directed by supervisors.
Lead maintenance and troubleshooting crews as necessary (Level II/III).
Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and mentor lower-level technicians (Level III).
Read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component repairs and replacements.
Requirements
A high school diploma or GED required or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet.
Able to work safely in a confined space.
Must possess a valid driver s license and good driving record.
Possess demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color coded wires.
Able to work safely in a wide range of adverse climates and environments.
Able to travel as required.
Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams is preferred.
Able to communicate verbally and in writing and able to work without direct supervision during performance of work.
Able to create, edit or modify Microsoft Word and Excel documents.

An Associate’s degree in electrical or technical field and six months turbine experience, or a high school diploma/GED and one-year wind turbine experience (for Level II).
An Associate’s degree in electrical or technical field and two years turbine experience, or a high school diploma/GED and three-year wind turbine experience (for Level III).
Benefits & Perks
Salary range of $45,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and location
Work schedule includes on-call shifts, potentially including weeknights, weekends, and holidays
