Job Description

The Operations Control Center Shift Supervisor oversees the real-time monitoring and control of renewable energy assets, providing supervision, troubleshooting, and process improvement to ensure continuous and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and direction to the on-shift Real-Time Operations Specialist in daily operations
  • Manage root cause analysis and continuous improvement processes for real-time operational issues
  • Monitor and troubleshoot real-time activity, performance, and asset status of wind, solar, and BESS facilities
  • Review operator logs for accuracy and compliance
  • Perform acceptance testing on RPMC tools and applications
  • Support commissioning and onboarding of new projects and personnel
  • Implement and communicate processes and procedures to ensure compliance and quality standards
  • Assist with RFIs, data requests, and other operational duties
  • Provide feedback, mentoring, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Act as a liaison between front-line employees and management to ensure clear communication

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power plant operations
  • A 4-year degree or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Able to demonstrate competent technical knowledge of plant and system processes and experience in operating electrical or SCADA systems
  • Able to interpret NERC, ERCOT, WECC, CAISO, PJM, and SPP regulations and requirements
  • Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet obligations to the Operations Team as issues arise
  • Knowledge of functional system interactions and the ability to pay attention to critical elements in a complex and regulated environment
  • Ability to make financial decisions based on real-time power plant equipment analysis and contract-related cost weighting, risk versus reward
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
  • Ability to work in difficult customer situations
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience with direct reports
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback and resolve team challenges
  • Willingness and ability to work rotating 12.5-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Salary Range: $92,000 - $109,000 USD
Work schedule: 12.5-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
