Job Description
The Director of Real-Time Operations oversees the remote control and monitoring of renewable energy assets, manages control center staff, develops operational strategies, ensures compliance, and drives efficiency in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee remote control and monitoring of power generation assets across the fleet
- Develop and implement operational processes, procedures, and training programs
- Manage and mentor Operations Specialists and Leads to ensure performance and development
- Determine technology needs to improve operational efficiency and quality
- Ensure compliance with environmental, operational, cyber, and regulatory requirements
- Develop staffing plans, set measurable goals, and drive team performance
- Supervise control center operations, including dispatch and real-time asset management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, or relevant experience in electrical power generation in lieu of education
- 8 years of experience in Control Center Operations
- Proficiency in plant and electrical system designs, relevant software systems such as generation management systems, SCADA, etc.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, compliance, quality, and schedule adherence
- Ability to take direction, identify problems, analyze root cause, and develop solutions in collaboration with others
- Ability to work well with others during stressful situations
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide goals
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- NERC Certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
- Knowledge of NERC, ERCOT, WECC, CAISO, PJM, and SPP regulations and requirements

Salary range of $180,000 - $225,000 USD
