Job Description
The Power Market Fundamentals Analyst will conduct market research, support energy market modeling, analyze data, and contribute to forecasting projects related to power markets, with a focus on understanding market trends, policy impacts, and capacity expansion in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market analysis research on policy developments, technological changes, and market dynamics affecting energy supply, demand, and pricing.
- Assist in constructing, refining, and validating energy market forecasting models with data gathering and analysis.
- Support data management by organizing databases, automating processes, and facilitating data sharing across departments.
- Create and present data visualizations and summaries using tools like Excel and Power BI.
Requirements
- Approximately one year of experience in energy, analytics, market research, or data analysis internships, part-time work, or full-time employment.
- Experience with programming in Python, R, SQL, or similar languages.
- Working experience with statistical modeling.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Power, Economics, Business, or a comparable field.
- Strong understanding of market economics.
- Strong understanding of power markets, economics, and quantitative econometric models.
- Ability to formulate and articulate viewpoints in written and verbal communication in a clear, persuasive, and succinct manner.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- The role requires the ability to work in a hybrid work environment, with the expectation of working from office locations such as San Francisco, San Diego, Scottsdale, Houston, Denver, or Princeton.
