Job Description
The role involves conducting legal and business research across various industries using advanced research tools, synthesizing findings into clear reports, providing training and support on research resources, and managing multiple research projects in a professional consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal and business intelligence research across various industries and practice areas using research tools such as Capital IQ Pro, Lexis-Nexis, Courtlink, Lexis Ai, Lex Machina, Factiva, Bloomberg Law, and GlobalData Explorer.
- Synthesize research findings into clear, concise deliverables.
- Coordinate and assist in delivering training programs for research tools and orient new consultants to research resources and best practices.
- Provide consultative research support by recommending appropriate tools and strategies based on client needs.
- Stay current on emerging research technologies, analytics tools, and AI-enhanced research solutions, and participate in evaluating new research tools and services.
- Manage multiple research requests and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
- Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across offices and practice areas.
- Assist in maintaining vendor management software, including updating user lists, usage reports, and vendor contract information.
- Collaborate with research team members to ensure appropriate delegation between advanced research and ready-reference work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree is required; a Master's degree in library and information science is strongly preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience performing legal and business research in a professional services, consulting, or law firm setting.
- Proficiency in using legal and business research tools such as Capital IQ Pro, Lexis-Nexis, Courtlink, Lexis Ai, Lex Machina, Factiva, Bloomberg Law, and GlobalData Explorer.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg research tools is considered a strong plus.
- Ability to conduct legal and business intelligence research across a wide range of industries and practice areas using research tools such as Capital IQ Pro, Lexis-Nexis, Courtlink, Lexis Ai, Lex Machina, Factiva, Bloomberg Law, and GlobalData Explorer.
- Ability to synthesize research findings into clear, concise deliverables.
- Experience in conducting legal and business intelligence research across various industries and practice areas.
- Experience in coordinating and assisting in the delivery of training programs for research tools.
- Ability to orient newly hired consultants to research services, resources, and best practices.
- Ability to provide consultative research support and recommend appropriate tools and research strategies based on client needs.
- Ability to stay current on emerging research technologies, analytics tools, and AI-enhanced research solutions.
- Experience participating in the evaluation and testing of new research tools and services.
- Ability to manage multiple research requests and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain working relationships with consultants and professional staff across offices and practice areas.
- Experience in assisting with the maintenance of vendor management software, including updating and uploading user lists and usage reports, and ensuring accurate entry of vendor contract information.
- Ability to collaborate with the Director of Research Information Services and research services associates to ensure appropriate delegation between advanced research and ready-reference work.

Salary range: $70,000 - $82,000 annually, with potential for bonus incentive compensation
