Job Description
The internship at Charles River Associates offers hands-on experience in life sciences consulting, focusing on policy analysis, market access, and commercial strategy for healthcare and pharmaceutical clients, with opportunities to develop industry knowledge and analytical skills through project work and professional training.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analyze qualitative and quantitative data on life sciences industry and policy issues
- Support policy projects by assessing healthcare policies and their impact on access, innovation, and competition
- Assist in developing evidence-based narratives to demonstrate the value of new medicines
- Map regulatory pathways, evidence requirements, and reimbursement hurdles across different geographies
- Develop models to forecast product performance, pricing strategies, and inform launch planning
- Contribute to the design of go-to-market strategies and lifecycle planning for pharmaceutical and biotech products
- Participate in client meetings, expert interviews, and team discussions to support project deliverables
Requirements
- Penultimate year Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree candidates with strong academic performance from a top-tier institution
- Minimum 2 1 with focused study in biological sciences, economics or related subjects including business, health economics and policy, public policy, physical sciences, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or other STEM discipline
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, plus an understanding of how to conduct internet research
- Proficiency using and analysing quantitative data to answer questions
- Experience with, or keen interest in, Life Sciences policy and healthcare
- Understanding of economic concepts and business processes, as well as familiarity with essential consulting methodologies, tools and techniques
- Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Strong self-management, detail orientation, effective time management, and ability to prioritise
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities
- Clear and demonstrated interest in consulting through coursework, work experience, activities, or attendance at CRA recruiting events
- Willingness and ability to undertake occasional travel to clients if required
