Job Description
A Robotics Intern at Toyota Research Institute will support and maintain robotics research labs, assist with hardware prototyping, and collaborate on operational projects to enhance robotic research and deployment efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve laboratory facilities, including organizing tasks, fulfilling fabrication requests, and fixing manufacturing equipment and robot systems.
- Support research operations by collaborating with engineers to design and coordinate events, enhance data collection processes, and maintain testing and deployment documentation.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant educational program related to robotics, engineering, or a similar field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Research Operations Engineers to design and coordinate events, improve data collection processes, and maintain testing and deployment documentation.
- Experience or skills in maintaining and improving laboratory environments, including working with lab managers on organizational tasks, fulfilling fabrication requests, maintaining and fixing manufacturing equipment and robot systems, and improving lab workflow and tooling.
- Ability to support research projects by contributing to the maintenance and operation of robotic hardware and testing setups.
- Demonstrated skills or experience in working with robot hardware, manufacturing equipment, or related systems.
- Ability to fulfill fabrication requests and support hardware prototyping activities.
- Strong organizational skills to assist with maintaining and improving lab operations and workflows.
- Proficiency in documenting testing and deployment processes to support research and engineering teams.
- Portfolio or list of projects that exemplify relevant skills for this position.
