Job Description

This role involves architecting and developing the next-generation software systems for general-purpose humanoid robots, focusing on machine learning, robotics software, and system design to enable robots to perform a wide variety of tasks in unstructured environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and build the next-generation software stack for general-purpose humanoid robots
  • Write and review production code to ensure system functionality and reliability
  • Design and debug complex robotic systems and software components
  • Mentor and lead engineering team members to maintain technical excellence

Requirements

  • Experience in architecting and building next-generation software stacks for general-purpose humanoid robots.
  • Proven ability to write and review production code, design and debug complex systems, and mentor engineers in a hands-on technical leadership role.
  • Strong background in robotics software development, including experience with large-scale datasets of physical interaction and machine learning techniques to learn general-purpose robot behaviors.
  • Demonstrated technical excellence and leadership in developing robotic capabilities for operating reliably in messy, unstructured environments.
  • Experience in developing or working with open source robotics software, such as Drake or similar frameworks.
  • Ability to lead the design, debugging, and implementation of complex robotic systems and software components.
  • Educational background or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Experience in building scalable robotic systems capable of performing general mobile manipulation tasks in human-like ways and at human-like speeds.
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Willingness to participate in a highly technical, innovative environment focused on creating general-purpose AI-driven robots.

Salary range between 240,000 and 360,000 per year
