Job Description
A DevOps or Platform Engineer at Celonis is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable systems using modern cloud and container technologies, automating operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and performance of the company's SaaS platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale services on Kubernetes clusters
- Automate operational tasks and manage infrastructure as code
- Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
- Monitor environments by integrating telemetry and observability tools
- Investigate and resolve incidents and issues in production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable end-to-end solutions
- Partner with Product, Platform, SRE, and Engineering teams to ensure system availability
- Support customer migrations and handle escalations
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience owning complex systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitOps ArgoCD.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes clusters.
- Ability to automate operational tasks and manage infrastructure as code.
- Experience monitoring and managing environments by integrating telemetry and observability into the platform.
- Ability to maintain best practices around notifications and response processes.
- Experience designing, owning, supporting, and driving the investigation and resolution of incidents and issues in production environments.
- Experience collaborating and developing on backend services in Node.js, TypeScript, or Java with Spring Boot, and maintaining and enhancing existing systems.
- Partnering with Product, Platform, SRE, and Engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions with high availability and reliability.
- Handling customer escalations and supporting customer migrations from legacy features.
- Solid knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.
- Strong expertise in Java Spring Boot with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of distributed system architectures and concurrency patterns.
- Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka, or similar systems.
- Comfort with Scrum, Kanban, and Jira-based planning methodologies.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Proactive, continuous-learning mindset.
- Experience working with or willingness to learn cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with modern cloud monitoring and observability frameworks such as Datadog.
