Job Description
This entry-level role involves supporting the design and development of telecommunications systems for construction projects in various sectors, under supervision, including preparing construction documents, reviewing drawings, and visiting job sites to ensure proper implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in preparing construction documents and specifications for telecommunications systems.
- Assist in designing telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients under supervision.
- Analyze engineering documents and layout systems with oversight.
- Review and markup shop drawings and submittals.
- Gather information to respond to RFIs and review change orders.
- Visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in a relevant field by hire date required.
- EIT or FE certification preferred.
- Related student internship work experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar applications preferred.
- Participates in the preparation of construction documents and basic specifications of telecommunications systems for building construction.
- Under direct supervision, may design telecommunication systems for healthcare, education higher education, and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems per applicable codes.
- Develop ability to analyze engineering documents and layout systems regarding components and parts with engineering oversight.
- Under supervision, develop knowledge of applicable codes for the application of telecommunication design.
- Assist in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
- Assist in gathering information to respond to RFIs and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
- Assist in visiting job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of sites.
