Job Description
A Senior Marketing Specialist at CannonDesign is responsible for developing and managing marketing strategies, proposal materials, and brand activities to support pursuit efforts and enhance the firm's visibility across multiple regions, working collaboratively with internal teams and clients in a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of proposal materials and coordinate all stages of pursuit processes
- Drive strategic pursuit activities from proposal to interview, including visual theme and messaging
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop pursuit strategies and marketing collateral
- Create and update marketing materials such as resumes, presentations, and portfolio pages
- Manage local marketing activities like sponsorships, awards, events, and photography to enhance brand visibility
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the firm’s portfolio, personnel, and offerings to support marketing initiatives
- Support training and quality assurance within the marketing team
- Maintain and update marketing databases and filing systems for pursuits and clients
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in a marketing or communications role for a professional services firm required.
- 7 years of related work experience in marketing or communications preferred.
- Must be proactive, self-driven, organized, detail-oriented and have an enthusiasm for innovation.
- Strong time and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must have the ability to drive large, complex pursuits end-to-end.
- Solid skills in strategic thinking, writing and design with the potential and or interest to further develop in at least one of these areas.
- Strong proficiency with InDesign, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Expertise in Deltek Vantagepoint, Sharepoint, Open Asset, and Miro is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and recognize and manage individual priorities.
- Ability to develop creative ideas for proposals and interview content.
- Ability to collaborate with marketing peers, client leaders, and cross-functional teams to develop pursuit strategies.
- Experience in developing proposal materials including coordination and production of deliverables across all stages of the process.
- Experience in creating and updating resumes, portfolio pages, presentations, and related marketing materials using design templates and brand standards.
- Experience in providing marketing research for market office strategy, clients, and pursuits.
- Ability to support training and ongoing development of Marketing Specialists.
- Ability to provide peer review and oversight for accuracy and quality of content.
- Self-review all work for accuracy and quality of content.
- Experience maintaining and updating Deltek Vantagepoint for clients and pursuits.
- Ability to properly and accurately maintain a proposal filing system.
- Establishing highly responsive, trusted relationships with pursuit leaders.
- Willingness to support local regional marketing activities such as sponsorships, award submissions, events, and photography.
- Willingness to travel as required to CannonDesign offices in the Great Lakes region, including Chicago, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh.
- Must be able to develop strong, in-depth knowledge of the firm’s portfolio, personnel, and offerings.
- Must be able to support and support the development of marketing collateral that supports markets, offices, and services.
