Job Description
A Smart Building Consultant Program Manager is responsible for advising organizations on the planning, design, and implementation of advanced building technologies to improve operational efficiency, safety, and user experience in complex environments such as healthcare and science facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic consulting to stakeholders on smart building and digital infrastructure strategies.
- Advise on program structures, scope, schedules, and budgets for technology initiatives.
- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of multi-system IT and building technology programs.
- Evaluate, recommend, and plan integration of enterprise IT and smart building systems.
- Facilitate stakeholder collaboration and support organizational change management.
- Advise on vendor selection, contracting, and performance management for smart building systems.
- Guide clients on data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
- Build and lead project delivery teams and foster a collaborative environment.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and develop long-term innovation roadmaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
- Ten (10) years of experience in program management, technology consulting, or smart building systems integration.
- Proven experience advising healthcare, science technology, or complex institutional organizations on technology programs that improve operations, efficiency, and user experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, cross-disciplinary technology programs in complex or regulated environments.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational capabilities.
- Strong consulting and advisory capabilities with executive presence.
- Deep knowledge of building systems integration, digital infrastructure, and enterprise technologies.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills for engaging diverse stakeholder groups.
- Expertise in project governance, vendor management, systems integration, and digital roadmap development.
- Ability to advise clients on developing and executing smart building and digital infrastructure strategies, including defining vision, outcomes, and measurable objectives such as OKRs and KPIs.
- Ability to advise on program structures, scope development, schedules, and budgets for integrated technology initiatives.
- Ability to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multi-system IT and building technology programs for smart facilities and campuses.
- Ability to evaluate, recommend, and plan the integration of enterprise IT, smart building, and specialized systems, ensuring interoperability and creating a cohesive ecosystem.
- Ability to facilitate collaboration with diverse stakeholders including operators, scientists, clinicians, IT, and administrative leaders to translate needs into actionable requirements.
- Ability to support organizational change management by helping clients adapt processes and workflows to leverage new technologies.
- Ability to advise clients on vendor selection, contracting strategies, and performance management for smart building systems and digital platforms, including conducting capability assessments of vendors.
- Ability to provide guidance on data privacy, cybersecurity, and industry-specific compliance standards such as HIPAA, FDA, GLP, and help implement governance and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Willingness to complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to internal policies and the Code of Conduct.
