Job Description

This role involves leading the design and management of integrated technology systems such as structured cabling, audiovisual, security, and data networking for large-scale projects, while overseeing project execution, client relations, and team mentorship within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and specify structured cabling, audio visual, electronic security, nurse call, distributed antenna, outside plant, data networking, LAN/WAN, voice/data architecture, and data center systems.
  • Lead project planning, coordination, and management from concept through construction, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with design teams and clients to develop engineering concepts, analyze requirements, and prepare contract documents.
  • Oversee project schedules, team assignments, and progress, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
  • Assess job sites for conflicts, provide resolution recommendations, and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, negotiate new projects, and secure assignments.
  • Travel as needed to meet project and client needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience required.
  • Must have knowledge of the design of structured cabling systems, audio visual systems, electronic security systems, nurse call, distributed antenna systems, outside plant, data networking, LAN WAN, voice and data architecture, and data centers.
  • Understanding of applicable design codes including NFPA, FGI, NEC, BICSI, and EIA TIA.
  • Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude and work independently with no oversight or guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to engage effectively with clients.
  • Ability to travel from coast to coast as needed to meet project and client needs.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients.
  • Must be able to coordinate project requirements and schedules with other disciplines.
  • Must be able to understand what documentation is needed and prepare contract documents with assistance of the technology team.
  • Must be able to manage multiple and/or large projects from concept stage through construction in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
