This senior leadership role involves developing and executing strategic plans to grow and lead the Minneapolis office of CannonDesign, focusing on business development, client engagement, fostering a collaborative and inclusive design culture, and promoting the firm's Living-Centered Design ethos.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead a high-performance, diverse, and inclusive leadership team for the Minneapolis office.
Create and implement a strategic business plan to support office growth, branding, and client engagement.
Drive top-line revenue growth through client development, strategic initiatives, and market positioning.
Identify, evaluate, and mentor client leaders to enhance client engagement and satisfaction.
Build and strengthen the office's leadership team and talent pipeline to support impact and growth.
Oversee office operations, including practice and market building, staff development, and business practices.
Represent the office in firm-wide and community activities to promote brand and Living-Centered Design ethos.
Partner with firm leaders to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and implementation of strategic initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
15 years minimum experience with a proven track record of business development success and top-line growth.
Proven ability to develop and lead a high-performance, diverse, and inclusive leadership team.
Experience in developing and implementing a strategic business plan for an office or organization.
Experience in growing office or organizational top-line revenue, with a personal goal of achieving at least 2.0 million dollars in annual top-line results.
Ability to identify, assess, and evaluate client leaders and implement client engagement processes.
Experience in building and maintaining client relationships, including engaging directly on projects and fostering high client satisfaction.
Ability to develop and execute strategies for office growth, including new business opportunities, branding, and client engagement.
Experience in leading and supporting office and market building activities, including evaluating senior talent needs and building strong leadership teams.
Experience in staff development, including mentoring, coaching, and identifying future leaders, in collaboration with Human Resources and other leaders.
Knowledge of and ability to champion best practices in project management, risk management, process improvement, and office profitability.
Effective communication skills to represent office leadership in firm-wide meetings, conferences, and internal communications.
Willingness to dedicate approximately 45% of work time to activities that advance the firm's brand and develop new business opportunities.
Willingness to dedicate approximately 30% of work time to engaging and partnering with clients on billable project work.
Willingness to dedicate approximately 15% of work time to office leadership activities including strategy development, practice and market building, and staff growth.
Ability to demonstrate ownership, accountability, sound judgment, and ethical conduct.
