Job Description
This position involves designing and managing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on projects across various sectors such as education, healthcare, and commercial. The role includes project management, site visits, and client interaction, with opportunities for leadership and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
- Assist with plumbing and fire protection system design as needed.
- Supervise or manage projects within the mechanical discipline, monitoring progress and budgets.
- Calculate heating and cooling loads, and develop system layouts using energy modeling software.
- Create construction drawings and BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Coordinate with clients and project team members, attending meetings and responding to RFIs and change orders.
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
- Participate in business development and marketing activities related to engineering services.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
- Current PE (Professional Engineer) license in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Must possess a working knowledge and experience in engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
