Job Description
This position involves designing and managing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection, for various construction projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and ensuring project compliance and quality from schematic design to construction administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
- Prepare Revit BIM models of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems from schematic to construction phases.
- Calculate heating and cooling loads and develop system layouts using energy modeling software.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
- Participate in construction meetings and respond to RFIs and change orders.
- Coordinate work activities with project team members and clients.
- Assist with plumbing and fire protection design as needed.
- Research and respond to emergent technical issues related to project design.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Must possess a working knowledge and experience in engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
