Job Description

This position involves supporting the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for various building projects under the supervision of a licensed engineer, utilizing engineering software and participating in construction documentation and site visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform uncomplicated HVAC system designs, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection under supervision.
  • Assist with Plumbing and Fire Protection system designs as needed.
  • Prepare Building Load Calculations and Energy Models using modeling software under supervisory oversight.
  • Assist in Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Coordinate with specifications as a member of the design team.
  • Draft reports for review by senior engineers.
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
  • Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of HVAC systems.
  • Related student internship work experience preferred.
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) or LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus preferred.
