This position involves assisting in the design and development of interior spaces, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting project phases from programming to construction administration, with a focus on interior design, documentation, and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Senior Interior Designer and Project Manager in executing project goals across all phases.
Develop and document interior space designs, including floor plans, elevations, and details.
Support in furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specifications.
Produce drawings adhering to project constraints and standards.
Apply building and life safety codes to interior design work.
Prepare renderings and presentation materials.
Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits and review of submittals.
Mentor less experienced interior design staff and guide project documentation development.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field
Minimum of 4 years of related experience
Current NCIDQ certification is preferred
Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to participate in the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content
Strong creative design portfolio
Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects
Ability to produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints
Ability to identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to applicable interior design work
Ability to prepare renderings and other presentation materials
Ability to participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list
Ability to perform site visits that frequently require a physical walk-through of the site
Ability to mentor less experienced interior design staff and provide guidance in the development of project documents
Willingness to travel as required
Ability to follow CannonDesign drawing standards
