Job Description
This position involves assisting in the design and development of interior spaces, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting project phases from programming to construction administration, with a focus on interior design, documentation, and client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Interior Designer and Project Manager in executing project goals across all phases.
- Develop and document interior space designs, including floor plans, elevations, and details.
- Support in furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specifications.
- Produce drawings adhering to project constraints and standards.
- Apply building and life safety codes to interior design work.
- Prepare renderings and presentation materials.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits and review of submittals.
- Mentor less experienced interior design staff and guide project documentation development.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to participate in the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content
- Strong creative design portfolio
- Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects
- Ability to produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints
- Ability to identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to applicable interior design work
- Ability to prepare renderings and other presentation materials
- Ability to participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch list
- Ability to perform site visits that frequently require a physical walk-through of the site
- Ability to mentor less experienced interior design staff and provide guidance in the development of project documents
- Willingness to travel as required
- Ability to follow CannonDesign drawing standards
