The Senior Design Technologist integrates advanced technology into the design process, supports digital workflows, and leads digital transformation initiatives within architectural and engineering projects to enhance design efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Support and oversee the implementation and delivery of design technology solutions on major projects
Manage the digital health of projects and ensure digital delivery commitments are met
Lead major initiatives within the Design Technology group, including planning and execution
Partner with consultants and clients to maintain digital model health and support digital collaboration
Manage relationships with key vendors, advocating for company needs and priorities
Lead project teams in BIM project execution planning at project kickoff and milestones
Create and implement standard workflows and processes for design technology
Educate and support teams in primary design applications and technology adoption
Leverage data collection and querying for design intelligence, automation, simulation, and AI exploration
Requirements
Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in design technology, software development, or a related role.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field.
Strong background in Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), design technology, and software development.
Solid understanding of project phases from design through construction close out.
Knowledgeable in design software and comfortable with testing and adopting new technology.
Demonstrates a deep understanding of design processes, delivery requirements, and the ability to apply technology strategically to create efficiencies while maintaining high standards of quality.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Experience training others in the design, delivery, and use of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Strong leadership skills and ability to drive consensus with various stakeholders.
Strong client and practice engagement capabilities.
Strong technical knowledge of model authoring tools like Revit, analysis tools like Insight 360, Dynamo, and review tools like Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revizto, Enscape, and other Design Applications.
Knowledge of the Revit API is preferred.
