Job Description
Assist in the design, development, and documentation of furniture and interior spaces within a multidisciplinary team, supporting project phases from programming to construction administration, while collaborating with clients and ensuring design quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior team members with project execution across all design phases
- Develop furniture layouts, including planning, selection, and 3D studies
- Contribute to interior space design development and documentation
- Support in furniture, layout, and specifications throughout project phases
- Produce drawings, renderings, and presentation materials in accordance with standards
- Participate in client meetings and construction administration activities
- Conduct site visits, review submittals, and assist with installation oversight
- Mentor less experienced staff and promote design quality
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Must be able to participate in the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content
- Strong creative design portfolio
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be an independent thinker and analytical
- Must be able to produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints
- Must participate in client meetings with Senior Interior Designer and Furniture Designer
- Must participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and installation drawings, and conducting punch list
- Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of the site
- Must be able to mentor less experienced interior design staff and provide guidance in the development of project documents
- Must be able to produce renderings and other presentation materials
- Must be able to follow CannonDesign drawing standards
- Must be able to produce drawings of floor plans and assist in the development of furniture layouts including furniture planning, furniture selection, and three-dimensional studies
- Must be able to assist Senior Furniture Designer and/or Project Manager with the execution of project goals throughout all phases (Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration)
- Must be able to support the Senior Interior Designer with furniture, layout, and specifications throughout all phases of interior design work
- Must be able to perform site visits that require physical walk-through of the site
- Must be able to participate in project meetings and construction activities
- Must be able to adhere to professional business attire standards for client meetings
- Travel required for the position
