Job Description
The position is an executive management role responsible for leading regional growth, strategic planning, and operational excellence within the firm's Central Region, with a focus on expanding business, fostering leadership, and promoting design and sustainability excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional growth plan to achieve at least 10% year-over-year growth
- Build and lead a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive senior leadership team in the region
- Define and implement a strategic regional growth and business development plan
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, target clients, and growth initiatives
- Oversee and promote best practices in project management, risk management, and financial stewardship
- Represent the firm externally at events to enhance brand visibility and reputation
- Communicate internally to foster collaboration and keep staff informed
- Champion design excellence, sustainable strategies, and the firm's Living-Centered Design ethos
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree is required for this role. Advanced degrees are preferred.
- Generally, at least 20 years of related experience or equivalent is required.
- Experience working in the A E I industry is required.
- Proven track record of ability to lead and inspire others required.
- Ability to develop and execute a strategic regional growth plan with a minimum of 10% year-over-year growth.
- Experience in sourcing, building, and advancing a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive senior leadership team including region and location office-based talent.
- Ability to define and implement a strategic regional growth plan in partnership with firm and market leadership.
- Experience partnering with Office Practice Leaders, Market Leaders, and Business Line Leaders to identify growth market opportunities, key target clients, and yearly Net Signed Fee targets.
- Experience evaluating and addressing senior talent needs in the region and building strong leadership teams capable of expanding growth potential.
- Ability to identify new potential markets, practices, and business lines for investment and development.
- Experience supporting research and development and encouraging development of new ideas, services, and products.
- Partnering with Regional Practice Directors to champion best practices of project management, risk management, process improvement, project leadership, and financial stewardship.
- Accountability for achieving or exceeding profitability goals for the firm and region.
- Representing the firm externally at community-based events, conferences, and broader events to support the overall brand and direction of the firm.
- Effective internal and external communication skills, including developing and executing internal communication processes.
- Ability to build and maintain a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive leadership team.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability in previous roles.
- Strong business acumen with a sound approach regarding risk management and mitigation.
- Effective communication skills to energize, inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Ability to champion entrepreneurial behavior, innovative concepts, and solutions.
- Demonstrated optimistic and inclusive leadership of a diverse team.
